While at the Angeles de Medellin foundation in Regalo De Dios in Medellin, Colombia I spent the day there taking some of the last photos I would shoot in Colombia. At the end of the day, just before I was leaving I seen this kid ride his horse into the village to pick up some material from the hardware store. I assume that maybe his father sent him down the hill to pick the items up. Anyways, I didn’t think much of it, as it’s a common thing in this area and the only reason this kid caught my eye was when he got to the hardware store (which is right next to the Angeles de Medellin building) he stopped the horse next to a 3ft high concrete wall and used that as a step for getting down. I thought that was rather clever and made a mental note to keep an eye out on this kid.
About 15min later, the kid didn’t disapoint me. He came out of the hardware store and had a big white bag of material in his hands. Then the owner comes out with a long pipe, I’d say about 20ft, and after the kid climbed back onto the horse, the owner handed the pipe to him. I’m watching this and trying to figure out how this kid is going to carry that pipe while riding a horse and holding onto a bag at the same time.
Well if you haven’t heard, kids in Medellin get “knighted” early so they have special powers and skills. If you don’t believe me, see the photos below, as you can’t say I didn’t tell you so!
