How Much For a Straight-Blade Shave Sir?
The first town we stopped off at while on the Great Indian Train Trip, was Dwarka. You can read about it here and see more photos. I always wanted to get a straight blade shave but for the most part you can’t find anyone in the US that does it anymore. I know my barber back home doesn’t and I think most in town would agree that’s a good thing (he’s got shaky hands, so to say).
So while walking around this small town I seen a barbershop in full swing and asked if it would be ok to take a few photos of them. They kind of looked at us like “Why?” but then they happily said “No problem Sir!” I was with another American photographer at the time and we both just started snapping away. I found out for only about 20 Rs ($0.50 USD) you can get a clean cut that is softer then a baby’s butt. And so it began for me, to not use my Mach3 razors the rest of the time while in India and keep it local only.
