Women along the road as we pass by in our Jeep
Our driver “picked us” at the train station, I say picked us because he was the first one to walk up to the group and ask if we needed a ride. We thought the price was fair so we all agreed and 9 of us piled into his jeep. The price might have been right but the driver wasn’t! He must have been an out-casted Formula One driver because the 3 hour ride from the train station to Darjeeling was one of the longest, most bumpy, intense rides I have ever taken. If his foot wasn’t on the gas pedal, then it was his hand on the horn blaring away at an empty road to warn people we were coming through.
No one was a happy camper on that ride but for me I at least got a window seat and was able to capture a few photos along the way. The above photo was literally snapped as we whizzed by this lady walking along the road. I felt bad because out of the deal I got a great photograph and she more then likely got a lung full of dust.
