My Thoughts:
Scott Schuman started going out daily with his camera and shooting photographs of people on the streets of New York City, which started out small but now he is considered one of the top fashion blogggers on the Internet because of it.
Although I’m not into fashion at all or fashion photography, I did find Scott’s website a year ago and liked it for many reasons. 1) he found something no one else was doing and went with it. 2) he didn’t over complicate things in his work (as the website is simple and his photos are standard for the most part). 3) he started out photographing just everyday people, not models like some people would think. Just regular people on the streets that caught his fashion eye.
His daily documentation of what he sees on the streets of New York City to me is what I find so appealing to his work. 50 years from now you will be able to look back at his photographs and know what people liked fashion wise in NYC, what they wore, as hopefully he’ll keep up his blog up for decades to come. That to me is art in itself! So even if you’re not into fashion check out his website. He also expanded out and has documented Paris, Milan and other cities as well, but New York will always be his best covered city I would think.
