The City Palace at Mysore, India is like a Christmas Disneyland attraction in a way. When lit up on the weekends it takes on a whole new form; one part palace, one part magical and two parts Christmas. I got to the site 10 minutes before they kicked on the lights and got my camera all set up. I was adjusting something on the tripod and all of a sudden the “extra” lights came on. I stood there for a solid minute just in awe, not even touching the camera. I had never really seen something so decorated with lights that was so large.
I snapped photos as much as I could for the next 30 minutes, until they shut them off just as suddenly as they had turned them on. Security began to blow their whistles, marking the end of the show for the night and everyone started to exit the palace grounds.
The City Palace has been one of the more interesting things I have seen in India so far. Almost as magical as The Golden Temple in Amritsar, Punjab, India.
