iTouch Photo Essay: Random Photos of Goa, India

More photos taken with my iTouch while in Goa, India.  I’m finding the limits on it and am getting to the point of knowing before hand what it can handle and not.  One thing is for sure, the iTouch sucks for low light photographs, so anything at night you won’t see in these photo essays.  If it excels in anything it’s natural light, which it does rather well in.  If you can get good light, then you can capture some great colors and contrast.

The only Hindu temple in Baga.  It’s right across from the restaurant where we eat every night.  So far I haven’t been inside of it because frankly you can just see everything from the road, as the temple itself is very small.

Porridge for breakfast!  I thought only poor British kids ate this (think Charlie from Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory) but it’s been on all the menus in Goa.  My friend ordered it for her baby one day and tried a bit.  Not bad but I’ll stick with Corn Flakes if I can have a choice.

Beach dogs do two things: beg for food and sleep.  They excel at both really well!  Goa is full of dogs just roaming around from beach shack to beach shack looking for a bite to eat here and there.  To be honest they all look pretty healthy compared to other dogs in 3rd worlds, say Cambodia for example.  Guess the tourists keep them fat with their scraps.

I didn’t buy a suit from these guys but I did have them make me a custom leather camera bag for my light set.  They did an outstanding job and couldn’t have asked for more on it.  If I actually had a job I would be inclined to actually have a suit made.

Rocky, the waiter at the restaurant where we go every night to eat.  He has been my hook-up guy since being in Goa.  He knows everyone when it comes to getting something or info.  He works 7 days a week from 9am-2am (and you thought your job sucked).

Only reason I added this photo is because it’s right in the middle of the street.  There is a round-about around it and kind of makes no sense.  St. Anthony’s remains are housed here and guess he was a big reason why there are so many Christians in Goa.

Read the middle caption.  I swear they can’t get this word right in India… it kills me!

Sunset on Baga beach.  Now look at this photo taken with my iTouch and tell me what you think, then look at the photo below and compare.

This photo was taken with an iPhone4 at the same time I took the above photo with my iTouch4.  Huge difference in quality and detail right?  Drives me mad that the sales guy told me the iTouch4 and iPhone4 had the same camera.  My friend took this one and wanted to show you all the difference in quality if your thinking of saving some money by getting the iTouch.

… and I had to share this photo he took as well the morning after Valentines Day. “These two lovebirds found each other late, late into Valentine’s Day night by the look of it!”  I don’t know whats funnier, the one guys head in the other guys lap or the Red & White balloons hanging over them both like Cupid found them love.  Click on the photo to see his website.  He always posts some funny, random stuff there!

I’m loving it man! I have the iPhone 4 so I’m sorry there is a difference and the salesman unfortunately had no idea what he was talking about, but I still think the iPod 4 photo is good. I think pixels are over rated, composition is one of the most important aspects of a photos, and you have proved that you have that!
