- What is your first name: Annabell
- What city are you from: Quito
- What country are you from: Ecuador
- What do you do: Spanish teacher at Simon Bolivar for 10 years
- If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go and why: Cuba because I liked Che Guevara and want to know why he left Cuba and didn’t finish what he started, as well as why Castro did what he did. I also LOVE mojitos and want to try an authentic one in Havana.
- What’s your dream and why: Travel with my daughter all around Ecuador so that she could value what Ecuador has, then maybe do some volunteer work somewhere here in Ecuador with her.
FOGG Notes: Annabell is my favorite substitute teacher of all time! She filled in for my teacher at the Spanish school one day on a field trip and was so cool. She helped me buy my first puntas drink (local Ecuadorian liquor that’s super cheap), we’ve had some awesome conversations about South American politics and she always had a big smile at the school. Her husband was in the Ecuadorian Special Forces and served in the narcotics division in the jungle. He is now on the security team protecting the president and has been in the Army for 15 years. But I think the best memory I’ll have of Annabell is that she taught me how to say cool in Spanish “chevere!’
