This last week I was invited to a pre-wedding BBQ for Mathias (from Denmark) and Maria Fernanda (from Ecuador and cousin to Lucy). Anytime I can get free food (and BBQ at that)…I’m in! I had Spanish lessons that day and after it finished Lucy picked me up and I went straight there. I thought it was going to be at someone’s house but it ended up being at a restaurant. In the USA when someone says your invited to a BBQ it’s always at there house. So I showed up underdressed but at least I didn’t forget my camera. Good thing because the cutest little girl was working the door when you entered the restaurant. She handed flowers to all the ladies and helped seat them. I’m guessing she was only about 7-8 years old but she took her job very serious and had made sure every lady got her rose.
Lucy’s sister, Sofia, was there as well and after taking some pictures I asked if she wanted to play with the camera a little. I got the classic “Si!” answer (she refuses to speak any English to me but I guess that’s what I need to learn Spanish). So after going over a few pointers I walked around with her for a bit while she snapped away. I pointed out a few things here and there but told her she should get some pictures of the little girl working the door. I wish I had gotten the below pictures myself because she was such a beauty to photographic. All credit goes to Sofia as she took both pictures but I did coach her through it, so that makes me proud. More pictures to come of the wedding!
