My last road trip in Thailand I went down to Petchburi. Located south a few hours by train or bus from Bangkok, it’s a little town with a lot of sites to see. One is Khao Wang Hill. A place set up on the hill just on the edge of town. It had great views of the city but that’s if you can stand the walk (or should I say hike) to get to the top. The entrance fee is only 150 baht ($4.40 USD) to enter but the hike up will cost you dearly. It might not have been so bad if the place had steps but it’s all just walkways to the top, which really kills the legs. Highlight would be the monkeys that live on the hill. You see them everywhere (will be posting more pictures on them later) as they live for visitors to toss them food.
The below pictures are from the inside of one of the temples. The lighting was great, texture on the walls couldn’t have been better and it paid off carrying that tripod all the way to the top. These are some of my favorite shots from here, as they were simple, easy to shoot and have a clean aged look to them. The bottom right picture reminds me of the song “Stairway to Heaven.” I hear that song every time I look at that picture and feel it gives that emotion of enlightenment.
